Today, Father Christmas is an imaginary figure, but nearly all young children believe in him. They think he is a happy old man with a long white beard and a long red robe.
On the night of the twenty-fourth of December every year, Father Christmas from some cold northern land comes down the chimney of the fireplace to put presents by the beds of children or to fill their stockings. So when children go to bed that night, they hang up their stockings, and on Christmas morning they wake to find them full of presents. Of course, it‘s really their parents who fill the stockings.
Another name for Father Christmas is Santa Claus.

During the 15 days from New Year’s Eve to Lantern Festival, Beijing was affected by smog for more than half the time, because of which people suffered a lot. On the road people drove slowly because they could not see clearly. People also suffered from many illnesses caused by smog.
The smog in Beijing has been caused by many factors, in which the increase of cars in the city area plays an important role. The cars send off a lot of poisonous gases, which in turn adds to the already serious air pollution.
In my opinion, the number of cars should be limited. We should call on the people to use more public transport. Only in this way can we expect to have more sunny days.

寫(xiě)命題作文通常要注意以下幾點(diǎn)：
一、審準(zhǔn)題目:文章的中心要對(duì)題目的分析來(lái)確定,一定要弄清主題的內(nèi)涵,確立與文章聯(lián)系的主題思想,表達(dá)不能游離于主題,否則即使內(nèi)容再精彩,也是跑題作文,得分將會(huì)大打折扣,因此,寫(xiě)命題作文最重要的是先審清題目,確立要表現(xiàn)的中心。
二、構(gòu)思結(jié)構(gòu):就是開(kāi)放思路,啟動(dòng)聯(lián)想,構(gòu)想表現(xiàn)形式,勾勒出文章的結(jié)構(gòu)層次,依次寫(xiě)出引言段,主題句,發(fā)展段和結(jié)尾句,努力使之新穎,別致。
三、選擇材料:這一點(diǎn)很重要,一定要圍繞想表現(xiàn)的中心去選擇組織材料,所選的材料必須典型精要。
四、表達(dá):就是用最確切明了的語(yǔ)言貫穿材料,表達(dá)自己的思想,力爭(zhēng)用符合英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)法規(guī)則。英語(yǔ)表達(dá)習(xí)慣,最順暢自然的詞,句,段去表達(dá)中心思想,與表現(xiàn)中心無(wú)關(guān)的話即使再生動(dòng)形象也不要去寫(xiě)。就寫(xiě)作的目的表現(xiàn)形式來(lái)看,命題作文分為三種形式:1、記敘文類;2、說(shuō)明文類; 3、議論文類。

記敘文就是以記敘人物的經(jīng)歷或事物發(fā)展變化過(guò)程為主的一種文章。在初中寫(xiě)作訓(xùn)練中,記敘文是最基本,最常見(jiàn),最重要的書(shū)面表達(dá)形式。記敘文有六要素即指時(shí)間,地點(diǎn),人物和事件的'起因,經(jīng)過(guò)和結(jié)果。一篇記敘文只要把這些要素寫(xiě)清楚,文章就會(huì)內(nèi)容具體, 眉目清晰,中心意思明確。一般情況下,這六要素中的人物,時(shí)間,地點(diǎn)作為開(kāi)端,要寫(xiě)在文章的開(kāi)頭。事件,原因常作為記敘文的段落發(fā)展,又稱為文章的主體部分,應(yīng)該放在文章的中間。結(jié)果作為記敘文的結(jié)局常放在文章的末尾處。
