　　There is only one definition of success-to be able to spend your life in your own way. To what extent do you agree or disagree-with this definition of success? Support your position by using reasons and examples from your reading, your own experience, or your observation of others.

　　Some people define success simply as the ability to choose how to spend ones life. Under this definition, people who have the freedom to do whatever they want at any time they choose would presumably be the most successful ones, while those who have no such freedom would be the biggest failures. Viewing the definition in this light reveals three serious problems with it.

　　The chief problem with this definition of success is that by the definition nearly all people would be regarded as failures. The reason for this is simple. Most people have extremely limited choices in what they can do and when they can do it. In other words, unrestricted freedom of choice is a luxury only a few people-perhaps a handful of tyrannical dictators and ultra-wealthy individuals-can afford.

　　Secondly, people who have a high degree of freedom in choosing their lifestyle often acquire it through means that would not earn them the accolade of being successful. For example, lottery winners or people who inherit a great deal of money may be able to spend their life in any way they choose, but few people would regard them as successful merely due to their financial fortune.

　　今年暑假，我報(bào)名參加了全省少兒英語朗誦電視表演大賽。有三千多人參賽。比賽分為四個組別，分別是：幼兒組、小學(xué)A組（我參加的組別）、小學(xué)B組、中學(xué)組。分初賽、復(fù)賽、半決賽、決賽四個賽程。競爭很激烈，從三千人中最后決出四十名選手進(jìn)入決賽。

　　我抱著試試看的心情參加了比賽，想練練膽子，希望能提高自己的英語水平。初賽的時(shí)候，我有些緊張，自我介紹的時(shí)候都卡殼了，不過幸好我的英語歌曲唱得不錯，順利過關(guān)，進(jìn)入復(fù)賽。

　　復(fù)賽的時(shí)候，我的心情不那么緊張了，并且增加了一個Story time的才藝展示。幾天后，接到了參加半決賽的通知。

　　半決賽在杭州濱江區(qū)的浙江藝術(shù)職業(yè)學(xué)院的.演播廳舉行。按規(guī)定，每個組別是20人參加，但是由于競爭很激烈，我們組有25人參賽，要選出10人參加決賽，比別的組更艱難。結(jié)果我發(fā)揮較為出色，殺入了決賽。哇，好高興！

　　一周后，決賽開始。評委也增加到了9個。比賽分為4個環(huán)節(jié)：自我介紹、才藝展示、即興演講和評委提問，要求也更加嚴(yán)格，超過時(shí)間就會被卡斷。我抽到最后一個出場，由于還是有些緊張，居然漏了一項(xiàng)才藝表演。不過其他都發(fā)揮正常。

　　經(jīng)過2個多小時(shí)的比賽和評委的認(rèn)真評選，獎項(xiàng)正式開出，我獲得了這次全省第二屆少兒英語朗誦電視大賽小學(xué)A組的銅獎。哈哈，真沒想到！通過這次比賽，我得到了鍛煉，開闊了眼界，也提高了學(xué)好英語的興趣。正像老師說的那樣，重要的不是結(jié)果，是參與比賽的過程！

They firmly point out that people would be in poor health if they always stay indoors. Most young people watch TV, play computer games and search the Internet when they keep indoors .Younger need do excise and enjoy fresh air .What’s worse, keeping indoors makes youth lack of communication with others and their social ability will be in a bad situation .
