with the fast are pace of modern life, more and more people are living under great pressure. some people are afraid of pressure. they think that the stresses and strains of work deprive them of joy and happiness. in their view, stress does harm to them both physically and mentally. that is why they prefer something less competitive and strenuous to something more demanding and challenging. others argue that stress isn’t as bad as it often supposed to be. unless it is overwhelming, a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and stimulation. with out stress, you may slack off and idle away your time. it gives purpose and meaning to an otherwise meaningless, dull life. people under stress tend to bring their potential into full play and to realize their goals. in my opinion, we shouldn’t escape from stress but to face it as it is. what we can do is to adapt to the stress and to profit from it rather than to avoid it.

Or get to know new friends. May not be a friend, just a companion. She just don't want to a person to and from the classroom, dormitory and canteen, it looks so lonely.

She found herself subconsciously in friend to tie my shoe, when standing beside him when she is finished; Quickly after the meal and then sit there quietly wait friend eat; Will be found in every friend isn't around nowadays means to look back... This is her best friends before "teaching" to her, they are so accustomed to each other for three years.

Here treat friends found that not everyone is the same. When someone is in her shoes no longer standing beside him, there will be no longer on the side watching her unconsciously, no longer someone to find her... Everything is different now. She drop the eyes and eyelash also forms a shadow.

She missed the lads and tease than they, if they were here, will be in each time the bell, grabbed her hand and ran all the way; Will affectionately called they give themselves the nickname; Will have something all right to side a few jokes, make a few 2; Will come here once in a while a few words of ridicule but beside others firmly in his cynicism to give back; If they were here... But they are not here after all.

There are many good reasons to cycle. Cycling is the most efficient means of getting around London. Many journeys we make are shorter than two miles or less and these are usually faster on a cycle than travelling by car, bus, tube, train or taxi.。Not only is cycling good for you, it is also fun and available to all. It is a chance to get out of the house or workplace, to be active and to be sociable. Getting a bike neednt be expensive and upkeep is low cost and easy. )

  Save money

Using a bike to replace your regular form of transport is a great way to save money. Its well documented that cycling is the best value way to travel around London . Compared to cars, bicycles are much cheaper to buy and maintain, and you dont have all the added costs of fuel, Vehicle Excise Duty and parking.

  Save time

For a typical London journey, cycling is faster than the car, public transport, taxis or walking. Remember that cycling is a door to door service. On a bicycle you can easily cover five miles in half an hour and be confident that youll arrive on time. Car or bus journeys take longer and depend on traffic, or irregular bus services. For longer trips, you can combine bike and public transport: leaving your bike at the station or sometimes taking it on the train/tube at off-peak times. See the LCC information booklet Transporting Your Bicycle for further information.

There are two important kinds of music in the world --one is written down and the other is not. Many people earn their living by writing music. They write songs for popstars and music for films and TV plays. They usually write exact instructions how the music is to be played. Folk music has been passed down from one goneration to another. At first it was never written down. Pe ple learnt the songs from their families, relatives, neighbours and friends in the same village. These songs were about country life, the seasons, animals and plants, and about love and sadness in people's lives. Early performers of music were popular and respected. They used to learn hundreds of songs by heart. On festivals they used to act and sing in praise of heroes who lived long ago. This was at a time when there was no radio, TV or cinema. Many of the country people could neither read nor write. In this way stories were passed on from one person to another. This continues in some countries even today. In some parts of the world nowadays, you often see musicians performing in the streets to passers-by. They put a cap on the ground in front of them, so that people who like the music can drop coins into it.

At present some people think that money is everything. They say that you can do everything if you have money. You can live in a beautiful house, keep a luxurious ear and have all sorts of delicious food. I don't think so. Indeed, money can buy a lot of things we need. But there are many, many wonderful things in the world that cannot be bough; with money. For example, knowledge cannot be bought with money. One cannot be rich in knowledge unless he studies hard. Time cannot be bought with money, either. Who can buy even a second with money? There are still many other things that cannot be bought with money: health, life, happiness, friendship, love and so on. Just think, if a person hasn't these things at all, is the money still useful? Now, do you think money is everything?

  Details Make a Difference

That details make a difference is an old saying known to people all over the world. Details are important to success in business and in every walk of life. Details can make the difference between two things that appear similar, but in reality are very different in quality.

There are several examples which can be cited to illustrate this concept. The first one is the Apple Corporation. The late CEO, Steve Jobs, was addicted to details. He could not stop pushing his staff to pursue perfection in design and production. Due to his focus on details, Apple made great success in the mobile field, producing products that were not only innovative, but also superior. Immediately, others copied these ideas, but they did not take the importance of details into account. Some manufacturers did not follow strict rules in their production and turned a blind eye to tiny problems.Their products looked similar to Apple’s, but closer inspection showed they were not as good. This is just one example that shows the importance of stressing details. Another example is the great masterpiece of Chinese paintings which consists of thousands of skills for mountains, figures or rivers. All of these need focus on details.

From my perspective, it is important to emphasize details in daily life and work. Success can only come by this kind of conscientiousness.

... is an old saying known to people all over the world:……

  every walk of life:各行各業(yè)

  be addicted to:沉迷于

  turn a blind eye to:對(duì)……

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic The Changes of the Percentages of Chinese Professions. You should write at least 150 words, and base your composition on the table and the outline given below:

  1、 根據(jù)上表,簡(jiǎn)要描述1980年與1999年我國(guó)農(nóng)業(yè)、工業(yè)和服務(wù)業(yè)從業(yè)人員所占比例的情況及其變化;

  2、 請(qǐng)說(shuō)明發(fā)生這些變化的原因;

The Changes of the Percentages of Chinese Professions

It can be seen from the chart that the great changes have occurred in the professional pattern in China between 1980 and 1999 with a great increase in the people involved either in manufacturing or service and a corresponding shrinking in agricultural population. Especially, in 1999, 38% of the Chinese working in the agriculturak industry, decreased nearly half to that of 1980 while the number of people engaged in service industry quadrupled that of 1980. Why are there such great changes during 20 years?

In my opinion, three possible reasons contribute to it. First of all, with the development of primitive economy, more people will move over into manufacturing and the service industries. Secondly, China’s open-door and economic reform policies realize more efficient and effective farming and increased urbanization. For example, with the development of what is called the village and township enterprises, a great number of farmers are now working in various small business without living their homes, which accounts mainly for the increase in manufacturing population. Finally, the economic policies result in an immense improvement in the Chinese people’s living standard, which creates a great huge demand for service and thus enable the service industries to flourish and absorbs more and more people into these fields.

As far as the effect is concerned, the changes of the percentages of Chinese professions will have far-reaching significance. On the one hand, these changes signify the great achievements China has made since she launched the economic reform and opened her door to the world. On the other hand, they also mark a great leap foward on her way towards an economic power in the world. In a word, both the nation’s development and her people’s living standard will get more and more benefit from these changes.
