當老師宣布要我參加英語朗讀比賽時，我就決定要全力拼一拼，爭取最好的成績，讓大家以我為榮。
拿到稿子的時候，離比賽沒幾天了，媽媽和老師天天陪著我練習，我也努力一讀再讀，背得滾瓜爛熟，應該是沒有問題了吧？
哪里知道比賽的前一天晚上，我卻緊張的睡不著覺，再床上翻來覆去的，直到清晨四點才迷迷糊糊的睡去。
到學校的時候，我一點精神也沒有，全身軟綿綿的'，暈頭轉向的，這樣能比賽嗎？誰知道一聽到比賽的鐘聲響起，我一下子充滿了精力，精神奕奕的上場了。
這次比賽的對手，一個比一個強。我努力的把平日練習的成果，自然的展現(xiàn)了出來。
果然不出老師所料，我真的拿到了第一名，我大大的松了一口氣。得到第一名的感覺實在太棒了，我的一切努力都得到了回報。

中午，我一回到家，就飛快地拿出了英語練習本認認真真地寫了幾遍，接著選了一張寫的最好的'下午到校后交給了英語老師，英語老師細致地指導了我，比如豎要寫直，行筆手不要抖等，我牢牢記在了心里，接下來的兩天我按照英語老師的指導一遍又一遍地規(guī)范地練習，我進步得很快，我在心里暗暗地想：有付出一定會有收獲！只要努力這次比賽我一定能得一等獎。
轉眼間到了英語書法比賽的日子，我快速向比賽地點跑去，到了地方，老師一發(fā)下試題，我就不由緊張起來，要書寫的內(nèi)容很多，(有十個單詞，和很長一段話）可又有什么辦法呢？我只能耐下性子來好好寫，剛剛寫了一個開頭，我就開始手心出汗，又往下寫了還不到一半，我已經(jīng)全身大汗淋漓，我急得像熱鍋上的螞蟻團團轉，心想：這樣緊張下去，比賽肯定無法取得一個好成績，不行，我得調(diào)整情緒，不能太緊張了。于是我連著深呼吸了幾下，盡量把字寫得不那么歪歪扭扭，眼看快收卷了，我硬著頭皮把考題寫完交了上去。交上去后，我想：這次可算是寫砸鍋了，想拿一等獎是不可能了！不一會兒老師們便改完了試卷，評出了一、二等獎，開始發(fā)獎狀了，老師先念了二等獎的人，但沒有我的名字，一種恐懼迅速蔓延了我的全身，我是不是因為寫得太爛而沒有獲獎？我總不能得一等獎吧？我越想越害怕，這時老師念到了獲一等獎的同學，竟然念到了我！我萬萬沒想到我竟然是一等獎！我太開心了。
我知道我的書寫還有很大的進步空間，借著這次機會，我還會更努力地把字寫好！

Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common,too.They look comfortable and fashionable.However,there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts,trousers and suits.I find them smart,too.
But then,it is important to hold on to our topic.In my opinion,each type of dress has its place.Modern clothes are ideal for most situations,while casual clothes are worn more freely.As to traditional clothes,they must be worn for special occasions

The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.
By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start. Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters.
There is a rest period between the halves. During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other. The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.
