　　長(zhǎng)城上面很寬，足夠五匹馬或10個(gè)人并排而行。沿城墻有許多烽火臺(tái)，過去常有士兵駐守。敵人來時(shí)，就點(diǎn)燃烽火，以通知其他士兵。

　　沒有任何現(xiàn)代機(jī)器，要修筑這樣一座長(zhǎng)城是非常困難的。所有的工作都不得不用手來完成。成千上萬的人死了，被埋在自己修建的城墻下面。長(zhǎng)城不僅是用石頭和土筑成的.，而且也是用數(shù)以百萬計(jì)的人的血肉筑成的。
