The game was scheduled to start at start at eight o’clock on Friday night. Long before that, people began to arrive at the gymnasium.
By seven-thirty the seats were almost filled. The school band was there; they wore yellow and black uniforms. They started to play at about a quarter to eight. Everybody stood up, and the people sang. The game was about to start. Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters.
There is a rest period between the halves. During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other. The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win.

今天就是英語外研比賽的日子了，我被安排在下午2.30那場，老媽的單位離考場比較近，上午我便跟她去單位值班。
我在老媽的辦公室里，一直都在背稿，時間過得很快，稿紙在我的手中不停地抖動，說好的不緊張呢?
簡單吃了點飯，老媽看我這副狀態(tài)，她提議說，咱們提前溜達著去吧，就當散散步。
午后的街道有些冷清，看到不錯的景致，老媽竟不忘給我拍張照片啥的，她可真有興致。不覺中就來到了“寶睿國際未來小學(xué)”門口，我們是下午考生中來得最早的。
等了好久一些家長才陪著孩子到來，有接待老師把我們安排在家長等候區(qū)，并給選手們講了些注意事項，接著老師又讀了考場名單，我被安排在第三考場。
這是初賽，演講的內(nèi)容是自我介紹加才藝表演。我看到有的選手準備得真棒!不光自己化了淡妝，還梳了很復(fù)雜很漂亮的辮子，有的還穿了美麗的裙子。有不少同學(xué)手里拿了畫板，上面是他們精心繪制的圖畫，他們邊指著自己的畫邊小聲念著英語，看來他們的才藝表演一定是用英語介紹自己的.畫了。而我的才藝顯得多么的微不足道，我只打算讀一首英文小詩。
上午考完的同學(xué)在群里發(fā)來信息，他們說很簡單，評委主要看你的口語能力，覺得背不好的，也可以直接讀，我終于有了一些安心。
馬上就輪到我了，聽到老師念我名字，稿子在我手中抖的更厲害了。原來考場里只有三位評委老師，但其中有一位外國人。我的心開始咚咚跳個不停，手心也開始冒汗。我剛說一句“Hello everyone.”，三位評委老師便微笑著向我點頭示意。他們這一微笑，我反而不自在的很，我僵硬的站在他們面前，機械地象在用英文誦經(jīng)一般，我甚至聽到自己的聲音就象一只大蒼蠅在我周圍嗡嗡著飛，它飛飛停停，停停飛飛，可惡極了。我發(fā)現(xiàn)三位評委老師都在低著頭，記錄著什么，也不知他們聽清了這“嗡嗡”聲沒有。自我介紹環(huán)節(jié)很快就完了，我看沒人看我，便拿出稿子，直接讀那首“四季”的小詩。依然沒人看我，平時讀得一點問題都沒有，此時竟卡了好幾下，自己都覺得糟糕透頂。
三分鐘終于結(jié)束了，我向三位評委鞠了躬說了“thank you”之后，心情才平靜下來。
因為我是最后一場，所以，我來到家長區(qū)沒多久，就有老師進來，當場宣布進入復(fù)賽的同學(xué)名單了。老師神采飛揚，聲音洪亮，她說：“非常高興地通知大家，祝賀以下進入復(fù)賽的同學(xué)，讀到名字的同學(xué)也請家長一起上臺!”
接著老師便念“張三，李四”，沒有我的名字!
我沮喪極了，連為大家鼓掌的力氣都沒有了。
也許從我站到臺上的那一刻就被評委老師“秒殺”掉了。老媽反倒安慰我說：“你在這里登過臺，已經(jīng)很棒了。但一定記住，臺上一分鐘，臺下十年功啊�！�
是的，通過參加這次比賽，我也找到了自己努力的方向。
路過一家烘焙店，我說：“老媽，給我買點吃的吧，我要化悲痛為力量!”

主持人宣布比賽開始了。原本熱鬧非凡的大廳立刻安靜了下來。大家都屏住呼吸，等待著選手們精彩、生動的表演。選手們有的信心十足，昂首挺胸地走上臺；有的摩拳擦掌準備上臺展示自己的絕技：有的一刻不停地默默背誦參賽內(nèi)容……

很快，英語演講比賽結(jié)束了，但同學(xué)們流利的口語、精彩的表演以及我緊張而害怕的鏡頭，依然在腦海中久久回蕩……

When I was in kinder garden, I was very popular with my playmates because of my naughtiness. Once I made an arrow, with which I hurt one of my playmates and received scolding from my mother afterwards.
When I grew up, my father and mother dare not allow me to play outside. But sometimes when we had time they would bring me to the parks, movies and went swimming.
I like swimming very much. Thank them for teaching me swimming. I like to play with my friends because I was only a girl. My mother often scolded me when I didn't get home after school but never too severely.
I love my parents. I do think it is one of the best years in my whole life.

我們懷著緊張的心情，上了臺，面對著人山人海，心跳得更快了，原本生疏的歌，唱到后來就流暢了，這時，我突然發(fā)現(xiàn)周圍的人都沒在做動作，我看見人家沒做，我也就沒做“怎么辦，這樣唱會得倒數(shù)第一的.”
突然，發(fā)生了一個意外，唱到第二首開頭竟然出了差錯，我們聲音慢了下來，似乎每個人都在搜索開頭的詞語，我眉頭緊鎖，那首歌好像在我腦海里像放電影一樣放著，不一會兒，便極力搜到了那句話，漸漸恢復(fù)了狀態(tài)。唱著唱著，時間一分一秒過去了，隨著音樂的結(jié)束，我們也下了臺。
走下臺時，我心里一直希望，希望拿個第三名，因為第一名是不可能了，第二名也算了，一定要第三名，其他人似乎也和我一樣，一下臺就抱怨，怎么動作沒做的一類話，如果時間能逆轉(zhuǎn)，我肯定會邊唱邊做動作，真不甘心。如果第四名可就慘了，一格黑格��！
成績終于下來了，果然，如我們所愿第三名，每個人都在心里默默的叫了一聲“耶”
