　　Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them.

　　Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

　　Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

　　比賽開始了！我們班被分成了四組，每組四人，我被排在B隊(duì)。我們B隊(duì)選中我負(fù)責(zé)記錄物品，一個男老師分給了我紙和筆，開始報(bào)物品的英文，總共是10個單詞。我那時候的心情應(yīng)該是緊張加激動吧，十種簡簡單單的物品，我卻有好幾個字不會寫，哎！真是太緊張了。

　　寫好清單后，接下來的活動就有點(diǎn)像電視上的“購物街”。我們B隊(duì)飛快地沖進(jìn)了物品區(qū)，開始分頭行動，按著清單上的物品，我們順利地把十樣物品都找齊了，水彩筆、計(jì)算器、糖果……看來勝利就在眼前了。

　　緊接著我們隊(duì)進(jìn)入了最后一個階段就是歸還物品。趁A組還沒好時，我們隊(duì)把物品仔細(xì)對照了一遍，又把英文單詞念了一下，應(yīng)該是沒問題了。如果勝利女神對我們微笑，我們就可以到曼德沃超市去參加半決賽、決賽，那該有多好哇！

　　輪到我們了，我太緊張了，竟然把果凍單詞都讀錯了，不過馬上就糾正過來了。比賽還在進(jìn)行中，我們隊(duì)順利地讀出了一個又一個的單詞，后來我們把所有的.物品都?xì)w還給老師，比賽就結(jié)束了。覺得比賽時間好短，我感到好像還沒有玩夠似的。

　　最后，我們隊(duì)拿了第一名，這一刻，我們的美夢突然實(shí)現(xiàn)了，我們隊(duì)可以進(jìn)入半決賽了！今天我好開心，我想我也會在半決賽中好好努力的。

　　Two teams ran out to the floor. The referee blew his whistle, and the game started. A basketball game is divided into two halves, and each half is divided into two quarters. There is a rest period between the halves.

　　During the first five minutes of the second half, the score was tied. From then on, the game was very exciting. First one team made a basket, then the other.

　　The people cheered, and everybody was wondering which team was going to win. The ball hit the rim of the basket and seemed to hang there for a moment, and then it fell through the basket. The whistle blew and the game was over. Home team won, 70 to 68.
